ABOUT ME

Dr. Maia holds B.A. (English) from Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, then M.A. and Ph.D. both in Creative Writing from Sydney. Her past research focused on cognitive and linguistic factors affecting early language skills for literacy development and functional literacy, which has earned her international recognition,

 

Today, her research still focuses on language acquisition approaches but also expands to cover areas of subjectivity and national identity in films and literature studies. She received a Young Alumni Award for an outstanding Thai alumnus who has made a significant contribution to relations between Thailand and Australia in 2009 through to 2010. During the pandemic years, she still enjoyed an active scholar life and engaged in academic works with her scholar’s circles. In 2022, she received a national award for her research paper (Best Paper Award) and shortly after that, an international award for the other research paper (Best of the Best Paper Award). She is currently working with local and overseas scholars, to develop collaborative research projects and active sharing of academic knowledge.
